Urban and architectural design and consultation
While I've taken on many roles in collaborative design teams and worked in traditional architecture firms on all phases of the design process – from research and development to rendering and construction documents – I am at my best when I can help plant, support and grow a vision that reaches beyond the bounds of traditional architecture. I am driven and flexible, and also a great listener - a perfect combination to help support you and your team through a mix of research, problem-solving, and my own experience and knowledge of best practices in innovative, engaging, self-sustaining human habitats.
Creative, concise prose
My passion is for sharing stories and ideas. My experience ranges from academic writing to journalistic inquiry to nuanced editing. I’m comfortable working in a variety of styles, always keeping intended audience in mind. Ask about my blogging services, freelance feature writing, or editing and copyediting for your thesis, speech or presentation. Or check out some clips.
Otherwordly environments
I believe that creative placemaking, whether permanent or transient, is an essential part of the human conversation. From designing for the theater to event planning to large-scale urban interventions, I’ve had the privilege of seeing what a powerful tool art – particularly immersive art – can be in shaping the human experience. I collaborate with other artists and event planners to carry out their creative visions, and also work independently to build whimsical, elegant, or simply stunning spaces for parties, festivals, non-profit events, vacant storefronts and more. Whether you know exactly what you want, or are looking for help dreaming up something incredible, we can work through the design process – from meetings to sketches to working drawings, if needed – to make a space that will touch everyone who visits.
Public art, social justice and education
Creativity is, first and foremost, about community. Education and outreach have been crucial components of my work. I’ve worked as a community organizer, ensuring that all voices are heard when it comes to shaping our neighborhoods. I’ve taught youth and adult programs in art, sustainability, natural building, theater and dance. I’ve helped run internships for local high-school students gaining real-world experience in the non-profit art world. I’ve collaborated with hundreds of volunteers to help large-scale artworks come to fruition. Above all, I look forward to learning how I can help you reach your community and inspire creative change.
